Keeping the horses busy

All the grandchildren were here. The horses were kept busy. It was noisy! After everyone left, the horses took off for the West 40; they didn't even come home for supper!

No, that is my little barn. Feed, hay, harness, sulky and some gardening supplies live there.

Our property was a pasture with a cattle corral and a small outbuilding when we moved here. We've sort of added things, working around existing features. It isn't as convenient as it could be. Some day I want electricity at the corral and little barn. My enclosed garden and chicken house are there, and it would be good to have power. The iron feeder in the photo is a raised bed garden.

The weather lately has not been "average" for our area; we were most fortunate to have a pretty afternoon to play! Sometimes I put Dapper Dan in the sulky and let the children "drive". If they were here more often, I know I would have some good drivers.
