I have been watching Dollie for a month and she has gotten bigger and bigger but no baby. I have put Sassafras in with her to keep her company. Tonight I was going to let Sass out with the rest of the herd. She was walking by when I felt her bag. I had to catch and put her back in the yard. Her bag had doubled over night and was as full as it could get. She was not very dilated. We went out to check Dollie and my husband said Sass is down. About 10 contractions later we have a chestnut boy. It was not but about a 10 minute delivery. It took me longer to go in the house and get the birthing kit then it did for her to delivery.

Congratulations!

Congrats! Glad Im not the only one that gets fooled by these darn mares. I have 1 now under camera that I was not even sure was pregnant till 2 days ago. Maiden mare, could never feel the baby move. Wonder how many surprises I still have for this year?
