Introducing Myself

I just created my first post but have not introduced myself previously after joining in January 2020. My name is Maureen Arnold and I live on 2.5 acres north of Apache Junction, AZ, which is the 2nd farthest eastern suburb of Phoenix. Apache Junction is actually in a different County than Phoenix, Pinal County instead of Maricopa County. I have six minis, including one dwarf and one yearling, my last foal. I call my place Last Hurrah Miniature Horses. I am a member of both AMHA and AMHR. I also have a Belgian draft mare, so I have horses from micro-mini (the dwarf) to maxi size. I use one of my minis to pull a 3-wheel custom-made cart for me.

I stayed in a motel in Apache Junction one time. All the hotels in Phoenix were full due to a soccer tournament and we had to drive all the way out to your area to find a room! Also bought an ocatillo cactus at a shop there. What do you do to keep your horses comfortable in the summer?
