WOW, I have never seen a foal born breech, if you want to check out the post on this yahoo group:

I was shocked to see the foal was born breech.

I wasn't able to go in and see the photos, but if the baby was a dwarf like people are suggesting, this would have caused problems.

Normally, if you assist quickly, a standard breech birthed foal will survive. The trick is to get the baby out fast so the mare's contractions don't bare down on it's chest cavity. The foal can suffocate very quickly that way.

(Knock on wood) We've only had one breech birth, and she made it!
