I have a family that just bought my yearling filly. This is their first mini and they want to start showing next year. They want to do obstacle and showmanship with her. They are new to showing and minis. Is there a good website that they can "read" up on these classes and start training?? I'm going to give them a few lessons later on this year, but they wanted to start. So I'm trying to think of everything involved, but its always good to get different views on these classes. They do the parelli natural horsemanship with their big horses. And I told them about teaching the horse to sidepass, back, pivot, whoa (ground tie), set up, etc.

I don't have a website (except where to order the books!) but I highly recommend a couple of books by Jennifer Garrett Bryant: Training Miniature Performance Horses and Showmanship with Miniature Horses. Both are available at http://www.smallhorse.com/.
