Well, good bloodlines certainly aren't everything, and although I have heard of many of the lines that he comes from, although they are "older lines" meaning that he might not be of the "modern style" that is winning in the show ring. Of course, bloodlines don't mean anything, I have seen some pretty awful-looking horses with "good bloodlines"!

What do you want to do with this horse? Sounds like you are still learning and wanting to learn to drive... so purchasing a broke horse might be a good move.

I bet he'd make a cute gelding, no matter HOW well bred he is!

I would say his bloodlines are good, and probably worth $500, but without seeing him, his teeth, legs, or knowing that he for sure has both testicles it is hard to say. BUt if he truly is broke to drive, he is worth more than $500 as you couldn't pay to get him trained for that! I charge $300 per month in the off season (more suring the show season) for driving training and the horses usually need to be in training for 3-4 months to get them safe in the cart, usually longer to get them show ready.

Sounds like a very nice deal!

However, ask yourelf....do I like him? Do I really want him or do I want his prestige? Do I want another stallion? Do I want the added time, work, expense? Should I take him just to resale?

Again, he sounds wonderful, but one has to be reasonable in their descisions

I do want this horse, i have known him since i was like 11, when he was still a babby. This horse is so good! he is used for pony rides, and he is a peach to drive, acutally he is the first one i ever drove.

But any way i talked to my mom, and she said No

. Her reasioning is that she wants me to have a big horse i can ride. Wich i guess makes since, but still... i want the mini... and i don't know if i'm ready to have another big horse. i'm still trying to get over Jason.

OH NO!!! we were going to be show buddies. : P Don't give up. My and my mom worked very hard to get Rain and look how far we got. 2 horses, trailer and my dad is spending alot of time with the boys. Tell her that, about Jason. You can do it! *crosses fingers , again *

Here is a little something I am going to share with you, I grew up with big horses, loved them, but always wanted a mini. Well,here I am many years later, no big horses (still love them) just strictly minis. I have as small herd of A/R minis. Some of the best arguments you can give, " they eat less and require less space, they are easier to handle, they will always have the AWWWWW factor, even in those pesky high school years your friends will still think a mini is soooooo cute, sometimes when you have the big guys you are known as the horse girl or a farm kid, it is typically easier to place a mini than a large horse (God forbid you should end up having to find a new home for it). There are so many other reasons minis are desirable to own, these few examples seem to best fit your situation. Just make sure if you do get her to agree that you get what you truely want from the get go, even if that means holding out for what truely suits you.

Well, i was thinking too. why i shouldn't get this mini.

1. It's really hard to breed hinnys, often times stallions aren't willing to breed a jenney

2. He has drwarfism in his lines,

So i was thinking, i would save up , and buy a mini Jack (male Mini) and a Mini Mare! so i can breed mini mules, and mini Donkeys, i like that idea!
