It's been freezing regularly overnight here. The golds of autumn are everywhere but the leaves will soon be on the ground. That "pretty time" is almost over already. Forecast for snow on Monday. It won't stay yet, but I won't be surprised if we do get some.

"Historic" fire at the Wildlife Refuge near us. The wind came our way yesterday and the smoky air was alarming. Winds gusty and high fire risk, due to dryness. I heard that 11,000 acres burned. It was believed to have been started by a motorist pulling off the road and the exhaust caught the dry grass on fire. I think it is under control this morning. It is called the Rush Lake Fire.
Crazy autumn weather--windy and warm. Chance of rain on Wednesday for us. My flowers are all wind-blown. The only good thing is the pasture is dormant so Billy can get out and wander around.

Oh my goodness I'm glad you are safe. That's so scary. It was a big year for wildfires again up here. However, it is part of nature rejuvenating.

We've got a forecast for an inch of snow tomorrow. I hope it doesn't come because my daughter and I have a 2-hour drive south to our provincial driving club's AGM. My daughter's won the junior high point award. I have earned my 100-hour pin so we'll have to make the drive. It starts at 1:00, so we won't need to be driving in the dark either way.

More rain! The ponds are filling! Definitely rubber boot weather.
Checked the trap today. There haven't been packrats for a few days so I thought it was over. Today there was a drowned one. It wasn't in the water, so not sure how he drowned. Has your horse ever looked "like a drowned rat"? It's a pretty good simile.

That is beautiful. We have had hoar frost here and the landscape always looks like something out of a fairy tale.

No real snow here either though we had snow showers the other day and you could see a bit on the ground before it melted.

Well, after smarting off to Standards Equine, we did get a small bit of snow, maybe an inch, and the temperatures fell off the cliff. 🤣

This morning the temperature gauge read 2 degrees Farenheit. 🥶😂
