For a home work assignment my daughter needs to get lyrics for a couple of songs. One has to be a song about people being nice to one another. We came up with Crystal Blue Persuasion for that one but my daughter is only 12 and that song is from what back in the 60’s. Zoee doesn’t really listen to music much and can’t think of any on her own.

The other song has to be about people being not so nice to other people and not being from a music family this one is hard for her to. I came up with that song I Feel like I’m fixing to die. Better known as I don’t give a dam next stop is Vietnam.

HELP its due tomorrow.

PS if you know the names to some songs I can find the lyrics I think.

Thanks

This one is too old for your daughter too but how about the song "I Can Help" it goes---- if you got a problem, I don't care what it is, if you need a hand I can assure you of this, I can help, if your child needs a daddy I can help...." Oh well if you don't get it with that nevermind

Now I have that song stuck in my head and can't think of another for not being nice.

Hmm first one that popped into my mind for the not so nice to eachother is welcome to the jungle by guns n roses

There is a song by Pat Benatar about Child Abuse. That's pretty much people not being so nice to each other. The name of it is "He** is for Children".

Good Songs:

REM - Shiney Happy People

Bad Songs:

Gatlin Brothers - Statues Without Hearts

How about "Every Kind of People " by Robert Palmer (also been done by Joe Cocker and I'm sure others)

Said the fight to make ends meet

Keeps a man upon his feet

Holding down his job

Trying to show he can't be bought

It takes every kind of people

To make what life's about

Every kind of people

To make the world go 'round

Someone's looking for a lead

In his duty to a King or creed

Protecting what he feels is right

Fights against wrong with his life

There's no profit in deceit

Honest men know that

Revenge do not taste sweet

Whether yellow, black or white

Each and every man's the same inside

It takes every kind of people

To make what life's about

Every kind of people

To make the world go 'round

You know that love's the only goal

That could bring a peace to any soul

Hey, and every man's the same

He wants the sunshine in his name

It takes every kind of people

To make what life's about

Every kind of people

To make the world go 'round

It takes every kind of people

To make what life's about

Every kind of people

To make the world go 'round...

for the people being nice to each other one

and

"Belfast Child" by Simple Minds:

When my love said to me

Meet me down by the gallow tree

For it’s sad news I bring

About this old town and all that it’s offering

Some say troubles abound

Some day soon they’re gonna pull the old town down

One day we’ll return here,

When the belfast child sings again

Brothers sisters where are you now

As I look for you right through the crowd

All my life here I’ve spent

With my faith in God the church and the government

But there’s sadness abound

Some day soon they’re gonna pull the old town down

One day we’ll return here,

When the belfast child sings again

When the belfast child sings again

Some come back billy, won’t you come on home

Come back mary, you’ve been away so long

The streets are empty, and your mother’s gone

The girls are crying, it’s been oh so long

And your father’s calling, come on home

Won’t you come on home, won’t you come on home

Ome back people, you’ve been gone a while

And the war is raging, in the emerald isle

That’s flesh and blood man, that’s flesh and blood

All the girls are crying but all’s not lost

The streets are empty, the streets are cold

Won’t you come on home, won’t you come on home

The streets are empty

Life goes on

One day we’ll return here

When the belfast child sings again

When the belfast child sings again

Or maybe:

"They Dance Alone" by Sting:

Why are there women here dancing on their own?

Why is there this sadness in their eyes?

Why are the soldiers here

Their faces fixed like stone?

I can't see what it is that they dispise

They're dancing with the missing

They're dancing with the dead

They dance with the invisible ones

Their anguish is unsaid

They're dancing with their fathers

They're dancing with their sons

They're dancing with their husbands

They dance alone They dance alone

It's the only form of protest they're allowed

I've seen their silent faces scream so loud

If they were to speak these words they'd go missing too

Another woman on a torture table what else can they do

They're dancing with the missing

They're dancing with the dead

They dance with the invisible ones

Their anguish is unsaid

They're dancing with their fathers

They're dancing with their sons

They're dancing with their husbands

They dance alone They dance alone

One day we'll dance on their graves

One day we'll sing our freedom

One day we'll laugh in our joy

And we'll dance

One day we'll dance on their graves

One day we'll sing our freedom

One day we'll laugh in our joy

And we'll dance

Ellas danzan con los desaparecidos

Ellas danzan con los muertos

Ellas danzan con amores invisibles

Ellas danzan con silenciosa angustia

Danzan con sus pardres

Danzan con sus hijos

Danzan con sus esposos

Ellas danzan solas

Danzan solas

Hey Mr. Pinochet

You've sown a bitter crop

It's foreign money that supports you

One day the money's going to stop

No wages for your torturers

No budget for your guns

Can you think of your own mother

Dancin' with her invisible son

They're dancing with the missing

They're dancing with the dead

They dance with the invisible ones

They're anguish is unsaid

They're dancing with their fathers

They're dancing with their sons

They're dancing with their husbands

They dance alone

They dance alone

Okay, this has got to be one of the all time meanest songs. It's awful. But just like all their (mean) songs, I actually like to listen to it. It's wierd. Of course, I don't agree with anything the song says, but here's a very hateful song for you.

Kill The Poor

- by the Dead Kennedys

Efficiency and progress is ours once more

Now that we have the Neutron bomb

It's nice and quick and clean and gets things done

Away with excess enemy

But no less value to property

No sense in war but perfect sense at home:

The sun beams down on a brand new day

No more welfare tax to pay

Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light

Jobless millions whisked away

At last we have more room to play

All systems go to kill the poor tonight

Gonna

Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

Behold the sparkle of champagne

The crime rate's gone

Feel free again

O' life's a dream with you, Miss Lily White

Jane Fonda on the screen today

Convinced the liberals it's okay

So let's get dressed and dance away the night

While they:

Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight

Oh, thankfully for my conscious, I did think of a nice to someone song to help balance it out a little

Wishlist

- by Pearl Jam

I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I could go off

I wish I was a sacrifice but somehow still lived on

I wish I was a sentimental ornament you hung on

The christmas tree, I wish I was the star that went on top

I wish I was the evidence, I wish I was the grounds

For 50 million hands upraised and open toward the sky

I wish I was a sailor with someone who waited for me

I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me

I wish I was a messenger and all the news was good

I wish I was the full moon shining off a camaro’s hood

I wish I was an alien at home behind the sun

I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on

I wish I was the pedal brake that you depended on

I wish I was the verb ’to trust’ and never let you down

I wish I was a radio song, the one that you turned up

I wish...

I wish...
