We had blood drawn from one of the preg mares last week who was loosing weight even with an increased amount of bagged feed over the past 3 weeks she's 14 years old and 5 weeks from her due date. Everything she was tested for was within normal range except for the glucose levels which he said were through the roof. She's having blood pulled again on Thursday to see if there is any change. Does anyone know what would cause this??? We are worried about her loosing the foal. l checked out cushings and thyroid but she doesn't have any symptons along those lines and the vet doesn't feel thats the problem..help.
