Are some of you aware of the current Eq. Herpes-1 virus outbreak in the MN,MI,W. WI areas? Our club is in the midst of determining if we be participating in a huge horse expo in Wisconsin due to it.

I read about that on TheHorse.com ! It seems like there has been more outbreaks of this recently than I remember all last year.

Go to FB page for Stillwater Equine Veterinary Clinic in Stillwater, MN. They have an update from yesterday. It started in MN and is now in Cedar Rapids, IA also. Tests show respiratory rhino but several have neurological signs. One barrel event that was to be at Kirkwood has been canceled. I believe 3 horses have been lost. They are advising to keep our horses at home and let it pass. Better to lose a little time than the whole season or worse yet a horse (s).
