Hemp for horses

My farrier suggested I look into hemp for my horse's arthritic condition. I do not plan to add hemp to his regimen at this time, but it is a topic that we should probably familiarize ourselves with.

Thanks for posting this. Interesting article. Just knowing it isn't regulated would be enough for me to pass on using it at least for my gelding. It would be just my luck to get some with THC in it. He has freaked out a couple of times all of his own accord. lol

I'm using hemp oil for my 32 year old gelding who had kind of an apolectic stroke (two times) last October. I've planned to use CBD oil, but the lady from the hemp store recommended to try the usual hemp oil instead of CBD first. I started with 5 ml a day, actually he's getting 15 ml/day on his grain. He did not have any stroke since we started with the hemp oil and I suppose his movements are better. He has bone spavin (this is a kind of osteoarthrosis) and is retired, but we do little walks (3-5 times/week, 1-2 miles per walk) to keep him flexible.
