help for posting youtube videos?

So, I figured I would check with all of you and hoping someone can help. Does anyone know if I have to buy a special software to edit videos for youtube. I'll tell you what I need to do. I have several 5 or 10 second video clips I would like to combine into one video. Right now they are on there all indivual videos really short.

Next, I want to be able to start a different video with a picture, then video then picture. If anyone knows I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Use Windows Movie Maker that you already have. Its easy and fun

Mac people can use iMovie, also free software that comes with the operating system.
