I must say that it is always a learning experience when Dr. Taylor comments. It is wonderful to have a knowledgeable person such is Dr. Taylor commenting on the website.

I bred the two smallest horses in 31" stallion to a 32" mare and am now the proud owner of a 35" two year old!

Ha, my neighbors bred a 30" to a 29.5"- both with notable small backgrounds and ended up with a 36" offspring from the two. Another of the same cross matured at 29". I have had the same experience with various foals of the same crosses. One was almost 24" at birth, the other was about 19". It's a crap shoot.

My 37.75 stallion "helped himself" to my 32.5" mare. Perfectly normal foal who looks to mature at 33". He doesn't throw wide chested, big boned foals and she had nice roomy hips and was from a fine line as well. Height is only one aspect of breeding :)
