I’ve got a 13-2 HH and a 12-2HH and now we’re getting a mini. The mini will probably max at between 41” and 38”, or smaller since she’s a first foal. Anyway, I’m wondering how it is best to haul a mini with larger horses. We’ve got a 2-horse trailer that my husband is willing to alter to suit the horses we have.

We were thinking it might be best to make the divider solid all the way to the floor. Agree/disagree? Why?

I was also wondering if it’d be possible to convert our trailer to a 3-pony slant.

A friend of mine did this some time back. She made the divider solid and to the floor. This was because the other horse was 15.2 hands. The also put a piece of board across where the chest bars go and it has worked perfectly for her.

What sort of float do you have ? To convert it to a pony slant , I would imagine it would need to be a little wider than a standard double float.
