I know this has probably been asked to a lot, but here it is. As you saw in the previous post, we have been preparing our stallion for an upcoming show. He stands like a rock and does great with that and am teaching him to "lower" his frame... now here's my question. How do I get him to set his head and neck? I have tried bait... and it holds his attention great, but he just stretches the neck... not really arching or anything... Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks again,

Chris B.

I don't know if my method is kosher or what others do do, but it has worked for me.

Instead of having them stretch forward and out, which creates a very unnatural look, I hold the bait up so that he stretches his neck up, then move my hand back under his chin, causing him to arch him neck and strike a very upheaded pose.

(This is when he's not throwing a fit, like at our most recent show :)
