Thought I would just copy From Rule Book
– ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Hall of Fame
A. To recognize and give permanent, lifetime
championship status to the breed’s greatest show
horses and producers of show horses, the
ASPC/AMHR/ASPR administers and maintains the
ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Hall of Fame. Based on a point
system, the Hall of Fame is not to be confused with
the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR National All-Star Awards
(the two systems are separate and are in no way
connected or associated). Sires and dams of Hall of
Fame horses are also recognized by becoming
Superior sires and dams.
B. Hall of Fame scoring is determined by points earned at
all ASPC/AMHR/ASPR approved shows. Points
credited to each animal take into consideration not
only the actual placing in a class, but the number of
entries in the class. Hall of Fame points are cumulative
and stay with the horse throughout his/or her entire
life. (Example: a horse or pony may receive 40 points
as a yearling but not show again until it is ten years
old. All points won as a ten-year-old are added to the
40 points already accumulated, so he/she would only
lack 30 points to reach Hall of Fame status.)
C. To achieve Hall of Fame status, a Shetland, Miniature
or Show Pony must score 70 points in Halter or
Performance, and the show record must include five
Grand Champion wins with competition (one must be
won as a 2 year old or older), or five performance
Championship/Stake wins with competition. A horse
could achieve Hall of Fame recognition in both Halter
and Performance if the requirements are fulfilled for
both. (Special provisions exist for performance
categories for which there are no championships.
Exception: A horse shown only as a hunter and wins a
total of 70 Hall of Fame points in hunter classes but
because no hunter championship is offered, at the
328
recommendation of the National office, he can achieve
Hall of Fame status in that division.)
D. Hall of Fame points are not given for Model, Amateur,
Color or any other classes that are not preliminary for
championships.
E. In the performance division, only one preliminary
class, in addition to a stake, will be counted (the
placing resulting in the highest number of points.) For
example: if a pony or horse places first in Ladies
Pleasure Driving with six entries, it would earn two
points. The same animal placing second in Open
Pleasure driving class of 16 entries would earn five
points. Thus, the points earned in the Open class
would be counted.
F. A mare is designated as a Superior Dam when she has
produced two Hall of Fame offspring and a stallion
becomes a Superior Sire when he has six Hall of Fame
offspring.
G. In order for a pony or horse to receive Hall of Fame
points, as with other national honors, the owner must
be a current member in good standing with the
ASPC/AMHR. This rule applies to youth exhibitors as
well.
H. Triple Hall of Fame points, but only one Grand
Championship will be awarded at National Area
shows, AMHR Nationals, and ASPC Congress.
