I was just thinking about some of the posts and sometimes unexpected things happen as we all know. I am wondering when you pull hair for testing (with the bulbs attached) how long are they "good"? I was considering pulling a sample from each horse and bagging it for filing but if they dont stay "good" that would make no sense.

Basically just curious I guess

Thanks!

I think is should last a long time if stored in a zip loc type baggie. I would suggest writing to a tersting lab and ask their opinion on what they feel is the best storage and packaging procedure and they should know how long it would be good for, but I would think for years.

I was thinking about doing the same thing just in case. But also wondered how long they would last.

We were told by the lab that they stay good for a couple weeks if kept in the refrigerator.

But I would recheck to make sure their standards haven't changed.
