We have a older mare that foundered and her line started to seperate (seedy toe) our farrier trimmed her as best he could..BUT she had a very painful way of walking..it was like you put your fingers on the desk and push down on the nails..every step pulled on her toe..we talked to Bill and he suggested to use the glue that he uses for Angel..so we talked to Janell and she is a wonderful lady and worked with us..anyways..hubby cleaned her feet really good with alcohol and peroxide..dried them with the blow dryer and put glue on them to fill in the seperation..now after3 weeks the farrier just left..she is 100%..her line grew together and she is painfree!! This sure beats all the meds the vet was trying to pump ito her..esp. BUTE!!

Soo thats something to look into if you havinga seedy toe problem..thanks all!!

I'm so glad your mares hooves are better! That Equithane Super Fast Glue is an awesome product! Not only does it hold Angel's "Magic Shoes" on it also can be used to repair cracked hooves! It can be shaped with a rasp just like the hoof!

Hey Christine, hoof wall separation, seedy toe, white line etc. is very common in Florida. Think we invented it. Sometimes we would shoot methionine up into there with a needle and syringe or some other things depending on the problem and used the glue for years down there because it came in so handy all the time. It was not uncommon for all of us to have glue of some sort in our tack boxes for that. Isn't Janelle and her Magic Shoes brillant by the way? When Julie from R3 minis comes back to Tennessee anytime you should have her over there to show you her special method of trimming horses with those kinds of problems. She's amazing. Next time she gets back here, she is going to school my farrier on her methods that she has learned of trimming foundered horses so he will quit pounding nails into them.
