Hi everyone! Not only am I new to miniature horses, I am new to forums/message boards. They always come up in my Google searches about stuff but I've never thought to actually join one! I am here to learn as much as I can from other mini folks. Thank you for having me!

In June of this year, we brought home a mini mama named Taffy who is around 16 yrs. and her baby Walter who was born May 02 and is around 4 months now.

Welcome Aboard! Cute foal! I'm in Central Oregon, so a bit of a ways away..... However Willow Flats is correct, there are a number of mini horse people in your area. There is also a strong AMHA mini club (Northwest Miniature Horse Club) with members in Oregon and Washington primarily.) Let me know if you want to know some other mini folks and I can "name drop" a few.

Taffy has such a beautiful face and what a gorgeous color! Walter is just a doll and I love his name!

Welcome! There is a world, literally, of horse knowledge, stories, hardships, and triumphs to share and to learn!

Not to mention a certain amount of zaniness! 🤣

Always glad to show and tell my critters! ;). Here are some pics of Taffy (mom) and Walter (colt, DOB 5/2/21) as well as their friend Ruby a Welsh Pony who is currently babysitting Walter through the weaning process. He is only 4.5 months but the vet said it was time, as he has a mouthfull of good teeth and he's eating everything in sight and getting huge. She wrote on his paperwork that he is "precocious". Walter seems to change color and get bigger every day. Excited to see what he grows up to be. He's super smart and has been so easy to train so far. Hoping that doesn't change as his stud hormones increase. Taffy was re-bred by Walter's dad in mid-June just before the pair came home with us, so we are really hoping she is pregnant!
