First day out! pix!

Here's a couple of pix of our colt born on Mother's Day! His first day out! We are leaning toward naming him WWC Miniatures Sultan's Mercury Rizen! What do you guys think?? He has pink skin around his eyes, is he a Red Dun??

I don't know what color the sire and dam are but your adorable little guy can not be a red dun unless one of his parents are dun. The mare looks black (sort of-- perhaps with sabino roaning) if so she did not give him dun (black + dun = grullo/grulla) Is the stallion a dun? My guess is your guy is a sorrel with the lighter coloring most foals exhibit.

What color is his sire? Provided one parent is dun, he looks like a red dun to me.

I forgot to put the parents in the first post!

His sire is a grullo and the dam is a blue roan pinto!

In that case, my vote is definatly Red dun

With a Grullo sire, Dun is a possibility. Can you show us a close up picture of his dorsal? No dorsal stripe, no Dun.

Does either parent carry Cream?

Since he has a dun for a sire I change my vote to red dun, however as Songcatcher says, no dorsal, no dun. Does he have any of the dun factors?

He could be the color twin to our red dun colt, Trooper (below), when they were the same age! Beautiful color

Given the genetics of the parents, I think red dun is a safe bet!!!
