Our little filly who was born on June 11th has started kicking out at other horses!

Is this just a foal being a foal or a bad behavior?

She is super friendly with people. The other horses are just in love with her and have never acted aggressive towards her, she gets along with them like 99% of the time, but every now and then she will do a really good buck at them??????!!!!!

Should I get after her? Is she just playing?? Will she grow out of this?

Thanks!

Dee

She's just being a brat!! The next stage is she will try it with you, so carry a rolled up newspaper!! Makes a lovely "THWACK" sound, scares the bejeebers out of the foal, who will probably never do it again, and does not hurt.

Jane has it right on. Just high spirits and a rolled up newspaper is the perfect foal training tool for most troubles. Biting & kicking. I swear Jane and I were sisters in another life we do things so alike!
