If you use electric fencing for minis, how is your fencing set up? How many strands do you use and at what height? How far off the ground do you start your first strand and do you prefer a certain amount of spacing between wire?

We are going to redo a section of our paddock that is currently in a three-strand configuration for big horses. We want to make it mini-proof, so I know it'll need more strands. I'm just not certain what is common for minis.

Thanks!

We use 3 strands but they are lower to the ground. I can measure if you need me to. This also holds in our bigger shetlands with no problem

I have Electrobraid fencing. Have to order on line. Check out their site.

I've had mine up for 10 yrs and still love it.

I use three strands 12" apart.

I only have the middle strand hooked up to the charger.

Thank you! I was afraid that we'd need more strands. I plan on using at least 4 strands, just because I like the way it looks.

Sounds like I can do it exactly as I do for the big horses then! Perfect.

I agree, we also have some electro braid. It is very safe, no wire for horses to get tangled in and pretty much maintenance free.. And it looks very attractive as well. Good Choice.
