Feeding Sandblast for the dry lotters

No rain and it's quite dusty here lately.

I'm also getting some obese horses back in dry lot. There's nubs in there and I feed hay, but they are picking up quite a bit of dirt I would imagine nosing around for a morsel.

I'm thinking that some of this belly could actually be sand (dirt).

In the winter, it won't be dry, but rather muddy.

I'm thinking I should put the horses on Sandblast now.

Any objections or comments?

Hi Marty! I feel that Sandblast is a good preventative measure. After all, you just never really know what these little ones ingest. I use SandClear the first week of every month for peace of mind. I did have a mare sand colic on me and it was not a pretty sight. So I would say, yes, go ahead. It can't hurt. Have you checked a manure ball with a baggie and water?
