I HAVE A ORPHAN FOAL I HAVE BEEN FEEDING FOAL LAC POWDERED MILK, AND HE IS NOW READY TO EAT THE FOAL LAC PELLETS. MY PROBLEM IS HE HAS BEEN IN SMALL PASTURE WITH MARE AND HER COLT TO KEEP HIM COMPANY AND HE WILL NOT EAT WHEN IS AWAY FROM THEM. BUT IF I LEAVE PELLETS FOR HIM THE MARE WILL EAT IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS

Can you make w/in their turnout area a small pen (maybe out of pipe gates or out of cattle panels and t-posts) and put the foal in there to feed him so he can see his friends but they cannot take his food?

Jill's idea is a good one! You might also try some type of creep feeder that has wrungs close enough that the foal can get his face in, but the mare can't?
