Fecal Egg Count Tests

Hi--

A few years ago I got a fecal egg test kit from Ozark Mini Tack for about $15 each. I am trying to get more to test our herd, but I can't find anything cheaper than $20 each. The vet charges $12, but $50 for a farm call so that isn't the best deal. Does anyone know any good sources?

I am not interested in buying a microscope for DIY.

Can't you just drop off fecal samples at the vets office?

The vet's office is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away, but I guess it could be mailed to her.

Just a suggestion and not sure if vets in your area do this, but what about just taking the sample to a closer vet. I would suspect that a fecal test is the same no matter where you take it to. I know our vet will test a fecal even if the person isn't a regular client. I am lucky that our vet is on the way to work so we just drop off our samples 2x a year.
