I decided to document Faye’s training on a forum so I could look back and remember where she started. We have recently been working on building muscle with lunging over poles, tarp desensitizing, and saddle pad introduction. I don’t really know if you can call it training being as she has had no reaction to anything I have done lol. She shows no care to a tarp blowing around her or on her or even walking and trotting over it. She lunges perfect and loves pole work. As for the saddle pad, they said she hasn’t been saddle trained but I’m having a hard time believing it. She wears it around on her back walking around and wears it just hanging out outside. She allows it to fall off her and doesn’t care so yesterday I introduced cinch training by seesawing her lead rope around her belly and she could care less. I am very happy and proud of how well she is doing with everything! Btw she isn’t really this chunky in the picture it is winter here and she has an extremely thick coat lol. Also in the third picture I am just off to the left so she wasn’t left unoccupied like that lol.

What a pretty girl she is, and I love her name. I am also trying to document my training with Consuelo, but it is hard to hold phone and lunge line! I set up weave poles made of plastic electric rope stakes. They are set just a couple of inches wider than her ample belly. I am ground driving her and she weaves better than some dogs, though only with my cues from behind. I am also using poles and lunging. Trying to get as far as I can before winter sets in.

We are starting to gain progress! There is a 11 month difference between the first picture when I first got her and now.
