I am pretty new to driving, and the only one I recognize up there is obstacle. So could someone explain them to me? Thanks

I am new also.Country is natural gait and carriage, no high action and pleasure has higher action, heads and more lively.I don't know at all what roadster is but have heard of it.

All of the above plus Park--and Carriage and Combined driving too. We have Hall of Fame and National Championships in AMHR for all of the above as well.

Roadster is similar to harness racing horses.

See my avitar for example.

We wear roadster colors and no baskets on the cart. Feet in the stirrups.

It is at a slow trot, road trot and then full out trot without breaking.

Quite the blast to do. my mare loves it, almost as much as her liberty classes.

[SIZE=14pt]Cant do the poll because I drive three different horses different ways. Carbon is roadster only at this point, GQ is roadster and can also do country. and Strut can do roadster and single pleasure. You all have not met GQ yet but you will!

Roadster is judged on showing a defined difference in gait and the speed without breaking.

I also do pleasure driving and have another horse for country pleasure and obstacle driving.

I recently also tried CDE driving.

Quite the difference with that as no overcheck, martingale and with breeching where I had concentrated on the headset and movement with pleasure.

None of the above....I do CDEs--combined driving events. These are shows run by ADS(American Driving Society) rules. Yes, Carriage driving is a lot different than show ring driving.

Country, Pleasure, and roadster for me. I haven't tried obstacle or park yet.

The mare in my avatar is a pleasure horse.

I do Single Pleasure, mainly because down here we hardly ever see Country Pleasure, even though our driving horses fall way short of the standard of US horses with respect to Single Pleasure Driving.

My current horse is more suited to Country, and I am hoping that our show schedules this year will include Country classes. The trouble is that there are very few harness horses here, especially Cat A. And there are more in the South Island than in the North Island.

I haven't tried Roadster yet, but may do this year. And I really like Obstacle Driving too, but we don't have a lot of those classes either...

I've only been driving minis since last December, but I love it!

And would encourage everyone to at least give it a try.
