This is my husbands mini donkey "Dixie Belle" who is 2 this spring. Do donkeys shed out differently than mini horses? The reason I ask, last year she was a yearling and I had to shave her the beginning of June since she wasn't shedding out any, I am used to that since most mini horses don't shed very well their yearling year. But this year it is the same thing, hair all over, very thick and long, and doesn't even look like she is beginning to shed out any. Am I going to be shaving her every year? Not a problem, just curious.

All mine shed out much later in the year than the horses.

Mine also shed out MUCH later, then the horses do. I dont clip mine, and usually by June they have a nice smooth coat.. its still quit cold here (Wisconsin) Corinne
