Well, I did not invent that fearmongering term - but feel free to single out my quotes about it.
It is only called fearmongering when you or your guy are not doing it I guess... although I have no "guy". And I have yet to post anything that comes close to saying -
if So-and-So is elected all these terrible things are going to happen and we need to be afraid...
Fearmongering is getting people upset about things that may not even happen - this 401K proposal is just that - a
proposal by a few Dems - and yet people are talking about it as if it is part of Obama's platform and a sure thing.
And yes - it is a bit of fearmongering to point out the possibility of some kind of terrorist activity after the election - but that has been noted for many months now... not just by Powell and Biden (who tends to put his foot in his mouth rather easily). There have been many concerns expressed in official circles that whatever new administration takes office will be tested by some sort of incident. Whoever is elected may face that challenge... and I think they will be prepared.
