color..size...conformation..

As most of you know I am new to miniature horses. And to this forum. Everythimg I have posted I have gotten wonderful responses to. Maybe someone can help answer this for me. I was told that the color and size come from the Sire, and the conformation comes from the Mare, is this right or do I have it backwards. This is one of those things that me go HUM!

[SIZE=14pt]Each parent has a 50 % chance of contributing their dna in many combinations so to say one gives more to the foal than the other would be eroneous. The only difference is if one is homozygous for something like tobiano pinto then they would always pass on a large T so the ofspring would always be tobiano pinto.[/SIZE]
