I have a mare whose papers say she's a palomino. My problem is she's a nice sorrel with dark legs and silvery mane and tail with dark color in it. She has a dark line down her back and her ears are edged with black.

What the heck is she??? I thought silver bay but what about the line? I think she has some faint barring on her back legs also.

Any opinions????

Thanks

Lee

she also gets lighter on her face towards her nose, but nose is black.

I'll try to get some pics today.

She could also be a Red Dun with Sooty + Flaxen pretending to be a Silver Dun- I have one who pretends to be a Silver Bay!!

Sounds like she is a Silver Bay. It's not uncommon for Silver Bays to have lines down their back, all of our Silver Bays have dorsal stripes that vary from quite light to almost dark enough to look dun. Important to remember thought that these stripes have nothing to do w/ dun.
