I thought about posting on one of the other topics but I didn’t want to hijack it so here’s my own...

I have a couple of minis who absolutely REFUSE to let me clip their eats and lower legs. Nothing has worked. I’ve had them for 1.5-3 years. I’ve tried so many different ways. Typically they just start pawing and jerking around. Did have one nip me the other day. What do y’all do to make it it easier (for me and the horse). Added a few pictures just because everything is better with pictures.

Faces I don't have much advice for, but legs I do have a tip. Pick up the opposite leg. Or have someone else do it. I don't know why the minis are such stinkers about the legs, I have never had a full sized horse object to it.

Talk to your vet about trying some Dormosedan gel, it's a prescription sedative that is administered similar to paste dewormer (except it goes under the tongue). They are fairly aware while sedated, so usually learn the process, but are calmer about it. It takes about 45 minutes to work, so you need to have plenty of time to dose it, let the horse chill for 45 minutes while it takes affect, then go to work. There are some it doesn't work for, but many it's very helpful.
