Also a couple of corrections on horses:

#3 sold for 900

5 was POed at 900

17 was bred and not open

29 was an unused number.

I started gathering my stuff and getting ready to leave after #36 and I appreciate you posting the rest of the prices. I spent a grand total of $25 on tack, but enjoyed watching the sale.

Sure hope these prices and others posted from other recent sales will make everyone who breeds take notice and really think about if they have the need to breed every mare.

Thank you very much for posting the prices !!!!

Those prices are very discouraging even for open mares.I am so glad I have no foals coming in 2008 and am not breeding any to foal in 2009.I am just hoping to find decent caring homes for the horses I am now trying to sell.If I have to give horses away I will give them to someone I know and where I can go check on them to make sure they are cared for properly.

Can anyone tell me what # 32 is like or her blood lines and her hight? Why she brought so much? Was she in foal? and to who? I just read it and saw she is just a yearling! Thanks! Lorie

#32 was a very nicely presented leopard app filly, by Indian Creeks Prince Polka Dot and out of Poco Caballo Acres Blue Contessa. Her sire was a national top ten.

The holders of this sale never give the heights but I think she was around 32".

Here are some other corrections. Most of the horses were EXCEPTIONAL. One consignor was selling out and brought some really top quality animals. Hate to see this person get out of the breed--they will be missed.

Lots 1-28 were mature mares, a lot of them were intentionally left OPEN due to herd reductions

Lot 8 - 950 not 550

Lots 30-47 were fillies (weanlings and yearling)

Lot 31 - 1100 not 700

Lot 33 - Scratch

Lot 39 SUB - Shetland Mare

Lot 40 Scratch

Lot 41 SUB - AMHR/ASPC Blue Roan Pinto Yearling

Lot 43 - 1750 not 1800

Lots 50-52 were gelding

Lots 55-60 were mature stallions

Lots 63 - 70 were colts (weanlings and yearling)

Lot 59 - 200 not 100

Lot 70 - Mars Montrose Dancing With The Stars

Sale was really not bad considering the economy and lots of people are leaving their mares OPEN for just that reason or because they were reducing their herds.

I brought one new one home. Lot 36 - JHK Spotted Bird Buckeroo, a bay pinto yearling granddaughter of Buckeroo on top and a Rowdy granddaughter on the bottom. Will show her this year and can't wait to see what she will produce with my Alvadar Double Destiny or White Russian stallion. Sure glad she came into the ring before Lot #39 SUB- Whispering Oaks American Beauty--a BEAUTIFUL, take your breath away bay sheland filly with a blaze. I was SOOOOO very tempted, but got the one I went for, glad she was presented before this mare.

Multihitch bought a beautiful little filly who is ASPC/AMHR and will be able to hardship into A but I'll let her tell you about her. She is very exotic.

Does anyone know who got lot number 24, lucky four suzanna van? just curious.

I was at the sale. I thought the quality of horses was, in some cases, outstanding. I heard that the prices are up from those of a couple of years ago.

Several horses from the a Sire named ..... Mega Bucks, went for some of the higher prices. I think they are small Shetlands. The lot 12 mares were B sized light buckskin and are a driving team. They really matched each other. the lot 16 team did not match each other at all one was much larger than the other, not the same color and thus did not "team" very well.

Thanks for the corrections! I was really having trouble understanding the announcer and several times asked someone else what the final bid was. I did list them by year of birth though. I was really impressed with the perfectly matched buckskin team, they were beautiful and the other team were not only mismatched in size, they were fighting each other most of the time before their number came up.

Tell multihitch congratulations on her purchase and Davie you did good!

There were some nice horses there.

REO did you get the corrections? I know that you and I both had the same amounts that they sold for.

Mary
