Laura - I feel for you guys - what a horrible way to start the trip - and a lot of your horses were favorites of mine - any consolation IMO you have wonderful horses, I know that doesn’t help paying the bills but you have nice horses
Awww, thanks! I did feel great knowing that we presented healthy, sound, correct, super nice horses and ponies that we could be proud of breeding. We also got to see a lot of old friends and met some pretty awesome people

Your very welcome Laura - I am glad you guys are proud - and you should be - they are all nice.

And I have to get use to sales with the mini world is very different from large horse auctions so it is great to know and hear that lots of nice people took home nice horses to be pampered and loved

I think once I see more pricing posted part of me will wish I'd said the heck with it and gone - but if I had won anything the majority of it would have gone on a credit card cash advance check and I didn't trust myself to be strong enough not to bid on some of the horses I really liked

So much temptation - tomorrow with World sale then this weekend theres one here in TX - I feel like I have that 'buybug' right now...

I would have been right there with you doing the same thing, were I to go and bid.

I do have to say though, ALL of the horses we sold went to AWESOME homes!!! Unfortunately I HAD to let some of them go. We had about $1500.00 invested in prepping for and getting to the sale, so we ALMOST broke even...ouch!

Those were as far as I got! We had to leave.

Many horses were B size and a few ponies. Many people in this area like the smaller A size I think.

I can't believe how low these prices are. I knew it was bad, but I guess I just didn't want to believe it was THAT bad. And yeah, like REO said, I think this area IS more A friendly. I would definitely spend more on an A or A/R horse over a R only horse.

Thanks for posting the prices. Our North Texas Pony Sale will be held this Saturday in Sulphur Springs, TX. We are selling 110 head of AMHR, ASPC, AMHA, NSP, POA, AQPA and grade ponies and ADMS miniature donkeys at the sale. I have done a lot of advertising and built a good website for the sale and mailed out a lot of catalogs but I am VERY nervous about buyers showing up on Saturday. The sale was pretty good last year, but last year we were not in an economic crisis (as they kept repeating on TV ALL day LONG....just to add to my stress level I think!). Anyhow, for those of you that did not get to purchase a bargain last weekend, feel free to come out and check out what we will have to offer. Also, just having warm bodies in the stands will make me happy, so even if you are not going to bid, just come out and watch and visit. We will also be having Central Harness Shop (full line of miniture and pony tack), Horse Of Course Studio (show clothes and jewelry) and Penny Casper animal portraits on hand as vendors this year.

I like B horses!
default_yes.gif
But I breed for A size double reg. ones. That's all I meant.

Although if we had room, Laura's pony girl would be getting lovies from me right now!

I guess things are different out here in the west. Minis are hard to come by, so are the veterinarians and farriers who have the "know hows" of minis. Educating that "they are not a pony" is ongoing. The price of everything horse related in this ranch area is very expensive, and as I stated, minis are long distances and not many available.
