I need help identifying my cart and shafts. I also have a question about attaching the saddle to the shafts because I think the overgirth is integrated into the shaft loops. I attached pictures of the shaft without the saddle strap "loop" and with. There are also pictures of the strap next to the saddle/girth. It seems to be a very old show harness that was very neglected but the leather is still sound. The cart has shock absorber suspension on the axle not just the seat so no bouncing is transferred to the horse or driver. I have fit the entire harness to my mini with the help of a leather punch and he is very relaxed.

Nice suspension on your cart! The end of the shaft looks like it made for some kind of quick hitch to me. We have at least one member that uses some kind of quick hitch and I'm sure they'll see this soon.

So with the help of Dragon Hill I found the missing parts but nothing about how to attach them to the harness. I want to make sure I'm not missing anything else.

Here's a thread from a while back showing a members quick connect. However... Your quick connect brackets seem to be on the top of the shafts instead of underneath so maybe a slightly different set up?

You might want to contact a race harness manufacturer and ask them. You may also need to have them make a saddle for you with the quick connect set-up. Trying to retro-fit your current saddle might be more effort than it's worth.

Yonnies might be able to help

Sounds like you're headed on the right path then. Can't wait to see it hitched.
