Can anybody tell me what color

The dam of the stallion in my avatar is Brewers Orion Promise and I was wondering what color she is/was and if she was a appy? Secret sired a colt this year that is a pinto that is showing appy mottling, so was wondering if the appy part was from 3 generations back or 2? He did have a pinto 1/2 brother last year that several people at a show thought he was a pintaloosa. I thought it was just the small spots that some pintos have, so this is getting interesting.

HI Robin,

According to the AMHA studbook he was dapple gray...and is still owned by the Brewers.

If you should uncover a picture, I would love to see him....I love that Orion line...

Thank you for the information. Promise is a mare, the dam of the guy in my avatar. Now I know where that silver is coming from. Can't complain to much though. So far he has given us:

1 solid black

3 black pintos: tovero's, one with blue eyes

1 solid silver dapple

1 silver dapple overo with blue eyes

1 silver dapple pinto tovero may be pintaloosa

1 silver bay

So he is running 50/50, of course some of the mares carry the silver gene too.
