Anyone know if black walnut and butternut are toxic to goats?? My little Ruby found a butternut leaf and was in the process of quickly trying to eat it when I yanked it away from her. We have a huge butternut tree that hubby wanted to build a shelter and run under for her, but it's under that tree. I know black walnut and butternut are no-nos for horses, but what about goats?

Not sure about black walnuts. I just went through something similar when all of my animals were eating the cherry's that were falling. Peatrie, my goat continued eating them even after I fenced it off. She was fine. I am learning that horses systems are just very sensitive compared to other animals :DOH!

But I don't have any idea about the black walnuts.
