Hello everyone,

I am looking into a miniature mare that is going to be close to the 38" mark... she is R registered only and I was just wondering if there is a market for them?

Diane

Diane,

Since you are looking for one, then there is definitely a market!

Sorry, couldn't resist.....Yes, there is. It's fairly new and growing, in my opinion.

Absolutely, B's are the hottest thing going right now.

I've always loved B's and like them more and more all the time. I would not have considered buying "Pal" if he weren't B division!

I just bought a filly who will be a large B and i adore her! i was specifically looking for a larger B for driving! i think we will see more and more Bs! jennifer

I have a B 35' gelding WCMHR reg. He is a red roan and Jumps, drives, tricks, broke to ride (my sis is teaching him to barrel race) and a whole wack of other stuff!!the only down fall is when you show them they are almost always the only one in the class *at least that is what I fined.

I have 11 horses and 8 of them are Bs. I paid 5500 for a 36 inch mare with a show record of national wins and 2500 for a mare with no record at all. I paid 2250 for a shetland mare that will also measure B at 3 and get hardshipped costing me a total of 2500 also. I believe that is the going rate for an above average qualtity B mare.

I just sold a shetland mare that is 38 now at 2 and a half for 1500.

Im convinced that the market is there! After seeing how big the B classes at nationals were, im more convinced than ever. I would give more for a B mare than an under 30" mare.

B sized miniatures are HOT HOT HOT.

I just bought a gorgeous B sized mare (not cheap!) and an exquisite show colt that will most likely be a B. I need a tall stallion for my B girls!!!!

For those of you who only love the A's, I'm selling most of my smaller A sized minis in order to pursue marketing my B's.

Also, and I have thought this for a couple of years, I believe the more people see what minis can do (especially driving), the more and more popular minis will become as family horses and a B is just such a good fit for a family horse because they are so versatile. I'd have to "do the math" but I think I've now got about 3/4 A size horses and the other 1/4 are B's.

Of our 6 minis, 4 are B's, 2 are A's, and one I believe will be a B when he's finished. Our little A yearling filly is my baby doll, but I really prefer the size of the B's more. I can see why their popularity is growing.

We've bought all ours in the past year, so I guess we have contributed to the rising market just a little.

We have a few A size horses but my first horse was a B size gelding and loved him.We have mostly B size horses that are aspc/amhr registered.Love the action of the double registered Shetlands.

Well all I can say is I know of several deals that went on both before and after classes at Nationals and several of those were in the 6500 and up some way up - so yes the B market is booming

Yeah, Bs are becoming more popular. I think its becuase they are usually better in Halter & performance. Most of the Bs I have seen seem to have better conformation & also are stronger then most As.

I totally agree with all the others who said the B's are so hot right now! We just bought an ASPC/AMHR colt at Nationals, ESTABLO RADIANT, and he's expected to finish around 36" - 37". Even a couple of years ago, I wouldn't have considered having a B stallion, but already had a number of B mares. All of my girls, except for one who is 34" right on, are B's and all the other colts and stallions are for sale.

It's also been my experience that the B classes are still way smaller than the A's but, as Lyn so rightly pointed out, the Over classes at Tulsa were really big and I think it's definitely the wave of the future!

Well I have to say I too am a B person

I have and always will love the bigger horses

infact I've stood my ground with them for many years now!! Our main herdsire is B stallion. And I too have seen the interest in the B division horse growing bigger and bigger

So I wouldn't hesitate 1 second in trying to decide to buy bigger or not I've done it many times

We have 8 out of 21 of our miniatures being "B" size and there is definelty a market for "B" size performance horses. I had a 35" pinto gelding that was awesome in cart, liberty, and halter and I offered him for sale and sold him less in a week.
