I was wondering if anyone knew if there is anything else that you could use as a binding ingredient that is not sugar or molasses for home made horse cookies? Thanks!

here's one that does cats, dogs and horses!! and people can eat them too

4 cups assorted of the following:

whole wheat flour

rolled oats

bran

buckwheat grouts

kibbled rye

1 cup skim milk powder

2-4 eggs to suit

1/2 cup kelp powder

1/2 cup dolomite

water to mix to firm dough

mix all together and roll out to desired thickness. Cut into squares and cook 150-200 degrees celcius (sorry, you will need to convert to f/height) cook until dried to the degree you want

For cats simply crumble the mix

Usually the binding ingredient is flour. I have made horse cookies with only a sprinkle of sugar(when called for much more). The cookies held fine and the horses loved them.

Google "Horse Cookies", you'll find some!

Thank you for the information! I want to try and bind a vitamin/mineral supplement with a treat so I only have to give it by hand. Since I would be giving it everyday I didn't want something high in sugar. Thanks again!
