I have a 21 x 26 foot pond, 5 feet deep, with koi and shebunkins....if I ever get it finished and looking decent, I'll post a pic. Has a 20 feet stream, 2 filters made with 300 gal stock tanks, a skimmer, and lots of water lilies and 2 lotus.

I have a little pond, about 4' x 7' and about 18" deep. It has a waterfall/stream that's longer than it is. We've had it for several years, having put it in when I was pregnant with my now 7-year old (just didn't tell my doctor how I was getting my exercise LOL!) Not being sure how they would do, I put some "feeder goldfish" from the pet store in there. Some of them lived for several years, before a Blue Heron had them for lunch. I'm glad I didn't invest in something fancy! It's been a real popular spot for the local frogs, especially during last year's drought. A lot of birds use it as a watering hole, and bathe in the stream when it is running.

I guess with all the frogs in there, this was inevitable. Today we spotted a snake among the water lilies. We have tentatively identified it as a Red bellied Water Snake, Husband has escorted it off the premises. Yep, he's a nut!

Tina and I know each other from way back on our little ponders mailing list... ours is about 24' x 30' and 3' deep at the deepest... something like 10,000 gallons, full of koi (some that we've had for as long as we've had the pond, 9 years or so now) and also full of mosquito fish and fathead minnows (and frogs!)

It has a huge filter system and a cool stream and waterfall, but they haven't been working right for awhile... fortunately it's a big enough system that the fish do OK without a filter, although I do MUCH PREFER it when it's working!

Here's my pond, bare-looking right now, as summer isn't here yet. Your koi are looking great, Karen!
