    It's Been Over SIX Years!!!!

Hello everyone, Some of you may remember me! I had miniature horses and went thru a bad divorce and sold them all. My life has gone in a new and different direction. I stopped by because I have a dear friend that is interested in miniature horses and I sent her here. Then just out of...

It has been a couple of years since I have done the exporting to Europe routine. Can someone who has recent experience with exporting horses to europe please email me? AMHA Studbook Online

Why on earth purchase a DOS based program for $350K in the year 2003? That, to me, was poor investment planning, void of strategic thought.

    New babies doing better today

Awww isn't that sweet? They are a couple of cuties and you're going to do great with them. I think that as things go along you'll know so much more and you'll make some well-informed decisions on how to handle these little loves. Its a growing experience for both of you. Just hang in there...

Stud fee money given now mare owner backing out

Yep this happened to me except I paid BIG BUCKS to breed my mare to a well-advertised reserve national champion from the BOND bloodline. Mare had a dwarf foal......stud owner did not make good on my stud fee nor a substitute mare/stallion pairing for breeding. I found others who had similar...

    Would like to know..

I don't consider my 2 year old fillies as breeding age. I have 12 mares age 3 and up that are breedable. 2 of those are confirmed in foal and 1 other is a possibility. The remaining ones were left open.

    Breeding difficulties

The cream must be some sort of hormone preparation.....in women's healthcare, this type of cream costs around $80 a tube.....never heard of this for horses, though, or how it would be applied. If the cervix is hard, it is EITHER because she is already bred (MUST ultrasound to rule out pregnancy...

    Fly Control

I'm not comfortable with Golden Malrin simply because I have cats and dogs that enter my horses stalls and the manure dumping sites. My dogs especially love to sample manure. We are having great success with the Fly Stik tubes from Farnam. Its a fluorescent orange tube that is coated in...

    Foals, birth to sell,,,,,,Average

Just counting feed, vet, deworming, shots, and upkeep of a pregnant mare, I calculate my costs at $300 during non-drought years. This is because of having abundant grass in the pasture to offset the additional costs of hay. During drought years, the cost is double. Doesn't really matter how...

    Choke in horses

Once a horse chokes, there is always an increased risk that they will do it again. I've owned a couple of chronic chokers in the past. They can be managed, but it takes dedication and persistence. One old mare choked on every thing including all forms of grass and grain. I kept her alive for...

Product to make horses shed faster?

A good worming seems to do the trick for me. Any wormload the horse is carrying, no matter how small, will consume the horse's energies. Also keeping them under lights if you are not getting a good 15 or so hours of sunshine a day will help.

    OK Color Experts....I'm stumped!!

He is smutty buckskin, undoubtedly. I've owned several and they have an ever changing palette of rich color just like his.

Can she really take me to court????

I did not read all the posts, just the first few. But I had to laugh at the story about this bully threatening you with court. Same thing happened to me when I refused to sell a mare to a well-advertised popular farm in IOWA. Thought it might be the same folks, but your bully is in Ohio...

    What Would You Do ...

Sorry NAN but first of all I don't think you are being fair. The owner of that farm is not here to defend themselves. Making derogatory comments about the quality of their stock is not nice. They actually DO have majority of registered stock, and many of their stock carries popular...
