yrling mini lying down, eyes shut, rolls intermittently

Thanks for the advice. Called vet. Vet arrived and examined her. Gave her a shot of Banamine and told me to walk her to get her to either pass gas or manure. Supposed to call him in two hours if she is not better. We have been walking for well over an hour now. She has peed but no gas and...

yrling mini lying down, eyes shut, rolls intermittently

I have a yearling filly who has been lying down just about continually since I noticed her doing this at about 3 p.m. She lies down, rests for about 10 min. and then rolls a couple of times, then lies down again, look at her tummy, etc. Maybe after 30 minutes she will get up and walk about five...

yearling won't let you touch her face

I have a yearling filly who when you reach to pet her face, she jerks her head away. She has never been abused in any way. How do I get her to understand she does not have to do this?

I wear jeans, tshirt, hooded sweatshirt then my insulated Carthartt coveralls with my hood up over a stocking cap. I wear leather gloves with thinsulate and a pair of Sorrel thick insulated side zip winter boots with warm thick socks inside. I have tried a lot of variations but the insulated...

Question on how to go back 2 months on here

This is probably a stupid question, but I would like to know how I can look at topics in this forum from a month or two or more ago. When I try to go past page 3, I just get page 3 again.

    western bit question

We purchased a 19-yr-old pony who is supposed to be broke to ride. Well, she is "rideable" except when you are in the saddle and want to get going, she absolutely won't move. I think they probably used to put kids on her and lead her around that way for them to ride. If you lead her, she will...

Where can I find little miniature horse stickers?

Where can I find little miniature horse stickers? We have school kids come here on field trips to see our critters as well as drop ins. Does anybody know where I could purchase stickers or pencils or something inexpensive that I could give to kids as a remembrance of their visit here?

    Tucker

I guess this is a dumb question, but he was chestnut before clipping and now after clipping what do you call his color?

    The Drama Queen finally foals...

Congratulations! He is a looker! Mare sounds like quite the character. The colt's star reminds me of the shape of Texas -- maybe have Tex as his barn name??

    Your opinions on fence type

We have had pygmy goats, mini horses and mini donkeys here for 11 years now. We use steel T fence posts and cattle panels. We got some of our cattle panels second hand from someone going out of critters and also got some used steel T fence posts from a man who sold all his cattle and took up...

    Goats and Minis...good or bad

We have had pygmy goats and mini horses plus mini donkeys for 11 years now. If we breed goats, we have them in a different area when the billy is here and then they go back with everyone else for the rest of the winter. We breed so we have kids around June 1st. About 6 wks. before their due...

how do you assemble a western headstall?

I know this is a stupid question but we bought a western bridle for our welsh pony. Now we need to attach the snaffle bit and the chin strap. I am not even sure if I am naming these things correctly but can you tell me what order they go all go on the "o" ring? Thanks so much.

My heart is so Broken. My mare abort this morning.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It is hard to understand when this kind of thing happens to you. You have to trust that it was for the best and that next years foaling will go better. I would like to have seen the photos but they had a red x in the square and my computer was unable to open...
