What a pretty girl! Has it been just a couple weeks since the other filly stopped drinking? I think every mare is different with lactating. Could be left from previous foal or she could be close to fooling. Do you have a PH kit available to test it?

Looks like a little bay filly. Depending on nose and legs darkening. If they don't darken it could be a sooty buckskin. Yay! I have been following her progress. Congratulations to you and your sweet mare and filly!!

Welcome from Idaho! If you decide to purchase a mini, I know a breeder in Washington state that has beautiful registered minis. The prices run a little more around the pacific northwest. I would expect to pay around $1000 for pet or $2000 for registered. Just ball park figures! Welcome to this...

Nice to have some calmness in the herd but like you said there are trade offs. I am hoping my calm little guy will be a great cart horse too! They are so much fun either way!

Hard decision for sure. I can relate as I have a recently (9months) gelded colt (3yrs old) that is a rascal. He is smart and curious and plays very rough with everyone BUT my mare. She had to literally kick the stuff out of him when he first went into the pasture with she and my little colt...

same here! so worried because she has been on bute for almost the whole pregnancy. Plus her feet are still hurting her. :(

My mare also not showing much but her appetite has increased. She is about 280 days. I have her on Essential Omega Blend oils to help with gaining some weight. I figure she has got awhile if you look at 320 days being a minis average....

That is good to hear. My mare is around 275 days pregnant and is very restless at night. Makes me remember my own pregnancies. I can commiserate!

Welcome! I have a husband just like yours. He cant get it through his head about the dry lot. He fears me more though! I have 3 minis, (1 gelding, 1 colt and 1 pregnant mare). This is a great place to learn and share with like-minded people! I love those donkeys!

Can you email pics and info to your vet? I am so lucky to be able to email my vet with any questions. I try not to bug her too much lately. My mare is at 270 days and I am watching closely. I would say keep and eye on her and make sure there is no temp and she doesn't go off feed.
