    Ponies and grass

Well is hot spring like weather here now, though with some chilly nights where they are rugged cause is also quite windy too. I've tried so hard to fence off bits and pieces but she doesn't respect them... even 3 strand elec tape, nope, lasts a few days and that's it, knocked over, tangled...

    Ponies and grass

Thank you for your input. She's doing pretty well on a roundbale so far. I don't have the option of turn out and dry lot or anything like that unfortunately. Might consider a grazing muzzle though, she's got electric fences worked out, if she's quick the zap isnt bad 🙄😤 Might just have to leave...

    Ponies and grass

Can someone please explain to my anxiety-ridden self just what the go is with ponies and grass.... is it different types of grass they can't have? Like growth, grass species, thick, mushy, what? There's nothing in their smallish paddock cause they've eaten it out but plenty in my house yard as...

    Stupid saddle!

Thanks so much for your comment, she would only be a lead pony. She wont be trained for pony club or even trained with a bit and bridle. That's even if she takes to a saddle, she's quiet enough

    Stupid saddle!

So I got excited and bought this beautiful tiny western saddle for my mini, without measuring anything on her first 🤦‍♀️ cause I'm an uncontrollable impulse buyer haha Anyway, finally sat it on her today and nope, too big, too long and too wide... think I'm gonna have yo get a boring little pony...

    Adventures!

Peanut has established that he's king of the mountain (we live on a hill) and Daphne is still cautious of him and tries to stay out of his way but when we are out on trail she happily trots along beside Peanut's long strides. Peanut has seen other equines come and go in his day and he's been...

    Adventures!

When i take Peanut, my QH gelding out for a bit of a trail, Daphne my mini, starts to fret. I'm in the process of training her to be at home by herself though, i leave my dog tied up in her paddock so she isn't completely alone. But sometimes i take her with me... What a sight! This is an...

    Pally pony

Thanks Kelly, i love her so much, she's only 6yo so have plenty of time to look at her. Either way if she doesnt get dapples or go golden, she'll still be so pretty

    Pally pony

Chasing info on what i could slip into my pony's hard feed (just basic pellets and a bit of chaff) to really bring out her coat colour? She's a light cream palomino but i want to see if i can't get her to golden up or even get some dapples... anything i could try? Thanks x is spring here in...

    Saddle help?

Hey folks, So I'm new to minis and I've bought a western saddle for her but is unmounted. I want to saddle break her so she can just be a lead line pony for little kiddies.... Anyway, my question is about latigo straps? Is there special mini ones to buy or can i just buy normal size nylon ones...

It's not going to be the best clip job by any means... I'm a dairy farmer not a hair dresser hahahaha but thank you so much, i will x

    Clipping in spring?

This is great thank you! I'm also really keen to see her summer coat colour because at the moment she's a fluffy cream-pally and i was shown her sister is a beautiful golden. Although i know she wont be the same I'm still excited to see... thanks again!

    Clipping in spring?

Hey guys, Australian...my first mini... My QH gelding always gets so wooly in winter and the past couple years coming into spring I've clipped him instead of brushing out his coat... I bought my mini about a month ago when it was cooler but now it's been right up to 30-33 degrees Celsius and...
