Bad news; Impaction Colic Surgery. She survived, but isn't out of the woods yet.

I'll start this off by saying Sodapop at nine months old, not even 24 inches, and 56 pounds with a mild lung infection(that her regular vet missed a week before she coliced) survived her surgery, despite having issues with the anesthetic, the surgeon running into complications, and having a very...

    Sodapops new fleece blanket!

Who knew! A one dollar baby blanket fits her perfectly! 🤣 A simple 30 seconds of sewing and Sodapop has a new turtleneck fleece blanket of sorts. :) Perfect for once she's shaved for doing public outtings. Who else makes things for their animals? :) I am always crafting for my critters.

    Sodapops Training

So I decided to use this to document some of the training Sodapop and I have done/will do together. :) I'm going to be going through and going from when I first got her, to now, and posting her training and what she's learned. This is her on our first walk together, learning how to lead next...

Do horses have fear periods like dogs do?

Hi there! Today I was on a walk with Sodapop, and we were in the middle of the railroad tracks when suddenly the guards went down and the lights started flashing. Gave me a heart attack, but Soda didn't mind at all. 🤣 It turns out someone was working on the control panel and hadn't noticed us...

Itty bitty boots (1.5 inches wide)

Hello everybody! I just wanted to share my new find for tiny boots for while foals are still growing if you bring them inside. I found them listed as dog boots, but they're silicone and offer just enough traction while fitting well that Sodapop can comfortably bebop around the house. According...

    Button the European Starling

Hello everybody! I am starting this thread to document raising an orphaned European Starling (sadly their siblings were already 'gone' when I got to them). Sadly no rehabbers would take her in due to them being an invasive species. Luckily in NY it's legal to raise them, as long as you do not...

    Hello Everybody!

Hello! :) I am Kricket, and I will be bringing home a young filly soon. I am planning on training her as a service animal, as only dogs and miniature horses are allowed to be service animals in the US on a federal level. :) I have a service dog already, but am giving myself four years with him...

Bottle feeding a three month old?

Hello there! I am purchasing a mini that will be coming home at 3 months(when her breeder weans her foals), and I was reading that weaning at 3 months is doable but many seem to be weaning at 5-ish months. My question is, would bottle feeding her be helpful to her system? I can't find any...
