    Thai Tom Yum soup

I make my version of hot & sour seafood noodle soup, using store bought Tom Yum paste, vegetable and seafood. It's all very modular, you can put different things in, and the soup base, from this concentrated Tom Yum paste is terrific pretty exotic flavors (lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime...

    New Mini Mom

I bought some celery last night and tried them out on it, and they also love it! I split between them 2 regular sized and 3 thin stalks. celery is a little bit salty too, so that will probably help in the hot weather, getting them to keep drinking. A great healthy treat idea, thanks Cayuse!

    Trust, Training & Treats

I'm in a similar situation with our yearling stallion, we're new horse owners. he has recently started rearing up on me mostly, 3 times over the last couple of days. When I physically step in to correct him, and make him back up, for things like crowding or biting. He's almost 100 lbs heavier...

    young stallion behavior

I had an incident the other day with our intact little guy. I was getting bitten, and so, I wanted to make him back up, we were just hanging out, no halters or harness. I gave him a slap on the spot where the shoulder meets the neck, told him no, and then stepped in, and tried to get him to back...

    Fireworks?

I'm wondering what others do about fireworks, we live in the fourth-most populous county in New York. 91% of the population is packed, in our western half of it. Katz isnt pregnant, so what should we ask the vet for to make that couple of days go smoother.

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

In the very beginning it was true! last summer, She would gobble up hers and then his feed, We did figure it out eventually, and found an easy way to separate them, but they were close enough to not to get anxious. I'm going to work with them some more on the Liberty, I do think they enjoy...

    intentionally fermented feed

I didnt know if it was or wasnt, so I was asking. I'm guessing that in winter, they generate needed heat from the internal fermentation. In the summer, I thought, it might be ok to jump one step forward, and pre-digest with the fermentation.

    intentionally fermented feed

I was wondering if there is any benefit to fermenting the feed at all? it's supposed to be very good, to breakdown the nutrients into simpler form. and the colony of microorganisms, fermenting the food, will out-compete, and kill off, anything that does not belong there.

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

once again, thank you all, for the encouragement and wisdom, I exchanged the unopened Legends Growth - Textured feed we had for Triple Crown Lite. I think there is 1 1/2 bags, left of the Legends Growth, plenty for the gradual transition. had a nice talk with the Vet, and she suggested the...

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

I read somewhere, cant remember exactly, that you can make a "U" shaped walkway around the perimeter of the pasture with fence, have their water at the far end. it limits the amount of grass they can eat, and lets the larger fenced off part grow, and they have to walk from one end to the other to...

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

thank you chandab, I am using the online calculator that was mentioned for my numbers. he's approximately the same height as she is, just leaner, and a little lanky, I think he'll fill out though as he gets older. She has always looked more stocky/thick and with more of a pony-like head to me...
