There's something in the eyes that says what words cannot. ♥

How exciting for you! I bet you can't wait to get them home where they belong. My guy is new too. I've had them for just over 2 weeks now (Willow came with his very own pygmy goat) I don't think either animal has been touched very often. They seem amazed by my hands, skittish but ever so...

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask...(ok to feed bananas?)

Right? LOL We eat an extraordinary amount of fruit around here. Son just asked me if Willow can eat a banana. I directed him to the turkeys instead because I don't really know if a horse would eat a banana or not or if it might give him a tummy ache. I know he'll eat an apple with great relish...

    Delivery Day!

Its nice to finally sit down for a few minutes and get a closer look at this thing. Yep, found the button! I can post pics like I want! Woohoo! This is a concern... his feet don't look good and hes a wild one. I won him over a bit today with a carrot and an apple. He's decided brushing feels...

    Delivery Day!

Rhonda, it was my first thought is ohhh he could help me! I'd be THRILLED if Willow would pull logs! We use only woodstove heat. We don't have winters as severe as you do but we do the wood thing all summer long worrying about being cold in winter. If Willow can manage some kindling he will have...

    Delivery Day!

Yesterday I basically fed and made short visits, didn't do more than offer dried apples, hay and took Willow's far too small halter off of him. Today however, I was greeted with Willow's enthusiasm. I brought in Willow's brush and sat it on the ground for him to explore. I brushed for like a...

    Delivery Day!

Thanks for all the sweet kind words everyone I'll look into some of these things. I'd never even considered showing as a possibility. Something else to ponder! My dream for Willow and myself is to plow one day. I have 29 acres and a green thumb and grow a huge organic garden. One thing at a...

    Delivery Day!

Thank you Rhonda, the man that delivered said here's your pony, totally confusing me. I don't guess it matters much. Whatever size he'll be is what size he is. No take backs! lol he's a sweetie, even let me pet him and take off his halter last night. Jane Doe, however, is absolutely spastic...

    Greetings!

I've just heard from the lady. They have picked up the trailer, I don't have a time yet but tomorrow they intend to bring them. She went on to suggest that I buy a halter for him, so that I can start walking him in good weather, so I have no clue how she intends to get him and the goat into the...

    Greetings!

Thanks Rhonda, my heart sure went out to the both of them. The goat was so freaked out I thought 'flying' goat several times. Let's hope time, calm and some stability in their routine makes things better. Patience seems to be the main theme in all of this. I'm doing my best to appreciate the lesson.

    Greetings!

I definitely wasn't offended Marty. The man has a way with horses and obviously loves them. Thank you for that. It opens up a whole can of worms though in this case. I was able to get a loop around his head, I was able to run my hands over his face, neck and back. I did lift and stroke his tail...

    Greetings!

Still trying... please think good thoughts. Snowing like crazy too which doesn't help with the transport. Thanks for your best wishes and I am definitely still trying all I can. I've called several rescues. So far nothing but I'm not giving up! I offered to bring her feed for them in the interm...

    Greetings!

Well that was thoroughly unsuccessful. Several hours spent fiddling with trailer lights and a long drive. We get there and Sam and Andee (horse & goat owners) are standing in the mud grinning when we get there. No halter for the horse, they had one that fit him when he was a baby...no rope...

    Greetings!

Saturday was supposed to be the mini horse and pygmy goat delivery day...I never figured trying to find a horse trailer would be the hardest part! Actually I thought finding the horse was hard. (I've only been window shopping for the horse of my dreams since I was 12!) Getting his enclosure...
