We broke a record in western Wisconsin, for snow fall in February. We got over 53 inches. This has been one looong winter. And the below zero temps, too, are nuts, had 40 below here a few weeks ago (and that wasn't the wind chill). Spring sure will feel great this year!

I've seen the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series mentioned... maybe that is a good place to start? I always enjoyed Agatha Christie, but her books were never long enough for me (I like a nice long read!). Anyway, any other suggestions are welcome.

I'm pretty sure this has come up before... But, I'm dying to read a good mystery, I'd like to find a series that I can just get totally lost in. Any suggestions?

I really am going to start reading the books of the month here. My car is STILL out of commisson (going to cost me alot, well, a lot to me right now, ha). So until then I am only getting rides from friends to the grocery store, kind of hate to ask them to drive me downtown to the library...

Right now I am only reading the magazines I subscribe to (not truly reading, since to me reading has to be a book...but, well, anyway...). I've had a couple pets that were sick, then I got walloped with another sinus headache thingie...... that is usually what prevents me from reading. And...

I LOVE westerns!!! Louis L'Amour was always one of my favorites. Has anyone here read "Lonesome Dove"? I read it a long time ago, way before it was a mini-series/movie. Fabulous book!

The Walter Farley Black Stallion and Island Stallion books. And, of course, The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. And, Marguerite Henry's books, especially King of the Wind.

Sadly, none of mine are on my bookshelf, my new apartment is so tiny that right now I have some nicknacks and horse figurines on my bookshelf (it's just a small bookshelf/bookcase), so for now most of my books are in boxes yet (in the closet) or sitting on top of the boxes. I need to get 'em...

I was really bummed when I read that. We don't have one here, but I hate the thought of any bookstore closing. I LOVE just browsing bookstores. I'm still not over losing Borders, that was my favorite store ever.
