How to nicely explain "please geld/dont breed"

Thanks Marsha..I was going to add that point! Our minis are all rescues, and we are happy to have them. When I called around regarding gelding, I was shocked to hear $300+! I can buy a lot of feed and hay for that..keep the little stud with a gelding in another pasture away from the girls.

    Safe toys for minis

Jolly balls loved by our horses, donkeys and dogs..the only thing the /Lab and Airedale pups cannot destroy.. Our horses and donkeys like the big ball, old hoses, hula hoops, and all the other things mentioned. Old bicycle tires last longer than hoops..Anything that is novel is fair game...

Cedar Toxicity – Trees in Pastures

Mine eat them..no problems here. Not gospel, my experience. They grow along fence lines, and are used as natural posts by just about everyone. In fact, you can often find old fence lines by the line of cedars..the seeds are spread by birds on the wire.

    Farrier etiquette

I have always tipped for a good job, and showing up on time. Our rescues had never had farrier work, and were awful. I paid him double, just so he'd come back, lol! At least we are entertaining..

    Twisting foot while moving

I have 2 who do this, 3 who do not. I had never noticed it before..my farrier says no problem. Doesn't seem to be related to trim, imo.

Intro to two new rescues and myself

Greetings from North Carolina! I have 3 rescues, and their foals..a driving pony, gelding, 2 mini donkeys and an ancient Angus heifer. All greatly loved by my granddaughters. Nothing beats minis!

    Stupid Is As Stupid Does

I have a pile..there's a bit of straw mixed in..but you are welcome to it! As far as a string of piles, you could build on the 'hands across America' with a slight change in a word here or there. T his would work during an election as well, no party in particular...

Devil The SuperHorse Saves 2 Cows!!!

We were all working in the barn today, and of course all the critters had to see what we were doing. You know, we might drop some food or something, lol. While cleaning stalls, horses milling about, one ton Darlene, my 14 yr old Angus/Black Lab came sashaying in. She is gentle as a lamb, just...

    MOD.PLEASE DELETE,TY

Those carports are $600 here...trailers $800 minimum. For the amounts you'll need, a plastic tub to hold a compressed bale, and filling it twice a week or so (if TSC is nearby) might just do the trick. It will be a pain, but better than souring your barn set up. Sharing, splitting, and free are...

    Tractor Supply Compressed Alfalfa

Mine love it..you are right about the powder though. The cubed hay is so hard lately, it has to be soaked. A problem in the cold for me and my arthritis lol. I just returned from a weeks trip to see family, my sons fed my 'good' hay I was keeping back for the cold weather. I see compressed...

    Educate me, please!

Ours have done well in our pastures fenced with 4-5 strand high tensile electric. Expensive, but looks nice had has been up for nearly 20 years. Before we brought home our first horse years ago, we removed every bit of barbed wire. It is ok for cattle (mine have walked right through electric...

Is this a scammer email or not?

We had nearly the same exchange regarding a tractor. The language was off, and could apply to anything (it, property). Also the payment thing. I only sell to people I can see, and preferably see where "it" is going...
