    Light weight 'bush bashing' carts

HA! Drove it today and had my first /mechanical' failure. The bolt that holds the seat on at the front, snapped. To be fair, it was loaded up with me and my two small children...but still.... The bolts did feel cheap and nasty and DH and I commented on that during construction. We will be...

    Light weight 'bush bashing' carts

Deborah B, I am in Australia so did not have a lot of choice. I am not sure what brand it is -other than 'Made in China! I will say that I don't think it is as sturdy as the China carts that Kingstons sell though, as I have had some shafts, wheel etc sent to me from Kingstons in the US and the...

    ComfyFit Harness & HyperBike Questions

I don't have a hyperbike ( I wish!) but I own several comfyfit harnesses. I would consider the comfyfit deluxe breastcollar to be the best fitting breastcollar I have seen in real life on any mini. Seriously! Zilco Empathy collar is nowhere near as nicely fitting and is clunky and ugly as well...

    Light weight 'bush bashing' carts

I am still vaguely entertaining the HB thought, will have to chat to the lovely Bob about it, but in the meantime I bought what I could afford and have started modifying it. I just bought a cheapo easy entry. My plans are to extend the axles for stability. I have had my husband curve the shafts...

    Harness Critique

Congrats on getting Spud driving! Well done. Marsha seems to have covered most points. I will try and dig up some photos of my guys harnessed so you can see my breeching in case that may be useful. The drivers view one may be useful. The side-on photo is from two years ago and his...

Scurry... Gonna try it.... Advice please???

Bumping this up to see if anyone has been scurrying of late? It looks like great fun and the events I have seen from around the world seem to draw decent crowds and sponsorship. I suppose it makes for good watching? In every group I have seen on the net that hold regular scurries, the minis are...

    First try at a team

how exciting! I had so much fun driving my pair, it was amazing how much more 'oomph' there was with driving the two, even though the vehicle had to be heavier than when they were driven as individuals. have lots of fun

    Light weight 'bush bashing' carts

Have been driving a pair, and driving a bigger single. Now, I find myself with only one Mini (my original beloved Hercules) and I am thinking- what now? I will keep my pairs carriage made by my husband as who knows what the future will bring but can't use it for Hercules as a single. I have my...

    Rearing mini -

I wonder if it is the breeching coming into play during the 'whoa' that is upsetting her? If it is, one possible idea is that you could have someone ahead of you when ground driving with lines attached to the breeching that can pull on it a bit during 'whoa' and continue on until she feels...

    ADT's

He is a lovely boy, you can tell you are enjoying driving him from not only your posts, but also the expression on your face in the pictures. I have never been to an ADT but hope you have fun, be sure to post some pics afterward

I am looking for a solid rubber mouthpiece bit

I agree with Margo re: bitting. I love watching Barry and Mel's videos. All gear should get the once over before harnessing up, I doubt a solid rubber bit would fail unexpectantly

    Marathon Shafts?

Thanks a million! Ahah, gig shafts! I am pleased I now know what they are called as it saves me trying to vaguely describe them, I am doubly pleased you could work out what I meant ;) Ooo carriage driving photos, now there is something I will get excited to look at even when I am not scoping...

    Marathon Shafts?

I have a new gelding who is just a touch under 40". I plan to drive him with my 34" gelding as a pair for pleasure. I may also drive him as a single to my four wheel vehicle which means I will need to get my husband to make me some shafts for it. The angle of draught of the 4 wheeler means that...
